Learn More About Art Therapy

Art therapy offers a way to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences through both creativity and conversation. Sometimes words are difficult to find, particularly when experiences feel overwhelming or complex. Art-making can provide another way to communicate, reflect, and discover what may be emerging.

In my practice, I use an expressive and process-oriented approach to art therapy. Sessions may include drawing, painting, collage, clay, needle felting, movement, writing, or other creative materials. You do not need to consider yourself artistic or have any previous art experience. The focus is not on creating a beautiful finished product, but on curiosity, exploration, and the experience of making.

Art therapy can support children, youth, and adults experiencing anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, life transitions, neurodiversity, emotional overwhelm, and other challenges. With children and youth, creative processes can provide developmentally appropriate ways to express experiences that may be difficult to communicate verbally.

My approach integrates art therapy, counselling, and intermodal expressive arts therapy. Together, we create a supportive space where the arts can help slow things down, make experiences more visible and tangible, and open new possibilities for understanding, connection, and change.
